The USGS Southwest Biological Science Center (SBSC) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU Partner to provide financial assistance for creating high-resolution transboundary vegetation community maps and dynamic maps of the Sonoran and Mojave Desert Ecoregion. This project will support critical landscape conservation planning and habitat management needs in the southwestern borderlands region, a large area in the states of Arizona in the U.S. and Sonora in Mexico, by mapping vegetation for avian habitat assessments using satellite imagery. |
